A contemporary mirror
Different meanings of an oracle are found in many ancient cultures such as I Ching, Kabbalah, Delphic Oracle, Akashwani. As allegorical process reveals different perspectives for known situations and conditions in a poetic way. In contemporary society, pervasive and ubiquitous computing redefine time and space, often supplanting an experience with invisible “Data”. Has “Data” become our prosthesis?
Within the process of European Lab for Interactive Artists(e-MobiLArt) we formed ‘theggroup’ . A group of five different backgrounds, daily enviroments, cultures and working desciplines. In the theme of ‘passage’, we started a research in autopoeisis and artificial intelligence. Oracle’s language is represented form a generative algorythm that creates an interactive ambience articulating an audiovisual narrative, through a library from vast on line datatbase, the link between the abstraction of digital data and the flesh and blood of the individual need and interests; thinking the invisible backbone of database and navigation through information as a driving aesthetic of the project. How can an detouched collaborative enviroment of various cultures, desciplines and geographical locations evolve to language communication and visual structure? Can society be represented within an ierarchical clustering of a digital scheme, what would be the form of this intercultural dialogue? Would time affect its formatation? could that be creating an environment in the notion of virtual substance of the physical world?
